Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 opened, 1/2-3/4 can of beer
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Directions:

This can be cooked in the oven or in the grill. With either method, preheat to 400 degrees.

Remove neck and giblets from cavity of chicken, if the chicken came with them. Rub the outside skin with olive oil. Mix all spices in a bowl and rub it all over the chicken. Pour about 1/3 of the beer out so it doesn’t overflow in the chicken.

Lower the chicken on to the open can, so that the chicken is sitting upright, with the can in its cavity.

The total cooking time will vary depending on the size of your chicken. Cook for approximately 1-1.5 hours or until an internal temp reaches 165 degrees. It’s so simple and the juiciest chicken you will ever eat!
